Whisk flour, chocolate chips, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, & salt in a large bowl. Melt 2 tbsp butter. Whisk in buttermilk & egg yolks. Place egg whites in a separate bowl and whisk together. Stir the wet mix into the dry ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in egg whites. Heat a large skillet over medium heat & melt 1 tbsp butter. Scoop 2 tbsp batter into the pan. Cook 2-3 min each side. Top with syrup, butter, whipped cream & enjoy!
